NGOs for "Entertainment for kids suffering a chronic disease":
ReplyDelete1. Note: in this webpage (http://www.bdfa-uk.org.uk/wish-granting-organisations/), I founded a lot of NGOs dedicated in the UK to young people with illnesses.
2. Starlight Children’s Foundation (https://www.starlight.org.uk/): is a national (from the UK) children’s charity that is dedicated to make the lives of children and teenagers suffering from a serious or terminal illness happier.
3. New Hope For Kids (https://newhopeforkids.org/): This organisation helps kids in the US (up to the age 19) to live (like the previous NGO) a happier live if they are diagnosed with a illness that threatens their lives.
4. Fundación Andrea (http://www.fundacionandrea.info/) : this NGO’s (which is from Spain) main goal is to “support for children with long-term, chronic or terminal illnesses”.

ReplyDeleteThose three NGO's treat the topic about HUNGER IN AFRICA.
ReplyDeleteThe Optional Article I will respond to is this one: https://www.theguardian.com/global-development-professionals-network/2015/nov/12/aid-should-ngos-close
ReplyDeleteI personally think NGOs should not close, because they provide a lot of help around the world. I believe a lot of changes can be done in order to make NGOs more efficient, like having more people in the ground. I think we should stop the band-aid effect. If there is a town that needs water, you should give them water in the short term, but you should give them the skills to build water pipes, or make train them to make them economically independent so that they can afford to buy clean water. NGOs will continue to get better, but I think they shouldn't stop existing. We should focus more of our efforts to give a solution to the problem and not just the symptoms.

ReplyDeletehttp://oceana.org/about-oceana/about-us
https://www.oceanfdn.org/our-impact
https://oceanconservancy.org/blog/
So the topic I want to work on is enviroment, especialy the ozone layer because is esencial for the living things of our planet.
ReplyDeleteSaving the ozone layer is very difficult because things thatare essencial forthe life of humans life destroy the ozone layer.
Some web pages y had found are:

And the NGOs are:

Friends of the Earth: https://friendsoftheearth.uk/news/ozone-layer-showing-signs-recovery-say-scientists
And the last one is not an NGO, but is the EUthat is trying to solve it: https://ec.europa.eu/clima/policies/ozone_en

I read this article: https://www.theguardian.com/global-development-professionals-network/2015/nov/12/aid-should-ngos-close
ReplyDeleteI think NGOs are a really good way to help people all around the globe so they shouldn't close, but it is true that sometimes they're not as transparent as we would like, so I agree with the idea of being the local people helping and volunteering. That way you can ensure that aid is efficient.
MY TOPIC: Teaching yong students how to summarize, make diagrams... (studying in general)
I think that it is a really nice topic to deal with as it is causing lots of problems in ters of stress or bad marks. So it is really impotant to treat the topic, as we can't change the educational system unless let's try to make it the "best" possible.
Some problems of this may be that not everyone wants to learn how to study, but an andvantage is that it is quite helpful and interesting to do. Some NGOS:

ReplyDeleteNGO's INFLUENCE CHANGE AROUND THE WORLD
NGO's grow in all parts of the world to help people with social or education problems, there are suporters who like NGO's but there is people who criticize what they are doing. NGO's have grown around the world.
There is people who recognize NGO's like if they were a Third Sector to diference them from the government as they are No Governmental Organizations and because there are places in which they provide work and money.
There is an NGO called United Way that has a global reach which is a good NGO because sends help in many places of the world.
Not everything is fine in NGO's as they receive a lot of critics because they take money from people or businesses, but there is also people who believe more to the NGOs than to the governments.
So in conclusion, NGO's have good and bad parts as everything but they help a lot of people suffering so they make a good job.

The page I choose is this one:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.theguardian.com/global-development-professionals-network/2014/sep/10/sustainable-procurement-transparency-ngo-best-practice
In this page Ihave rea how an NGO and the people that work with them how they should be.
A NGO should have transparency and be responsible of what they do and for what they do it. The NGOs should use the money people give them in what they say that money was for, because if this is not made this NGOs will be closed.
A volunteer should go to one place to help people or to help what the NGO is going to help or protect, not for making voluntourism that is going to one place to help people and to live in a luxury hotel or place. This is not volunteering because if you want to volunteer, you have to go with all the consecuences, like not eating or sleep in the floor.

LAIA DE PRADO TORRES:
ReplyDeleteI picked the article: https://www.theguardian.com/global-development-professionals-network/2014/sep/10/sustainable-procurement-transparency-ngo-best-practice.
A lot of money has been moved because humanitarian contributions lately, causing a general demand of transparency in the NGOs. The donors and NGOs closeness makes people and experts suppose that there is almost no way for that money to be inverted in the personal interests of the NGOs workers, so all the money donated by the donors to the NGOs goes to the NGO’s cause. With voluntourism, the NGOs choose volunteers based on their experience and financial ability, and criminal records are not checked, even though the have to pass a test, to be screened, to do volunteerism.
NGOs Influence Around the World
ReplyDelete(My issue NGOs infomation is above in a separate comment)
I read the article about NGOs influence around the world.Nowadays NGOs play an important role in society. They raise people voices and they help people in other countries. NGOs are non-profit and some are also non- religious. NGOs shouldn´t get any money from the government as they are non-government funded. Nowadays there are more and more NGOs that are taking the money from the government, or at least part of it. Peple criticize these NGOs as the shouldn´t get this money from the government. There are also great NGOs that are helping a lot of people in very different countries. In the past NGOs didn´t have much influence in international decissions,( as they are considered part of the third sector) but nowadays some NGOs are taking an important role in some decissions and are willing to make the world a better place for everyone.
